The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulates 1,954,317 facilities - about 75% of which are small businesses. Roughly 2% of all regulated facilities will be inspected and 1% of facilities will receive a fine in a given year.

Using the EPA’s publicly-available datasets, Argive built a tool that allows businesses to navigate relevant EPA enforcement activities and learn about common regulatory violations. The goal: help businesses improve compliance and avoid costly mistakes.

While the EPA enforces over 31 different laws and regulations, the tool presents information on the four statutes that comprise the vast majority (~90%) of the EPA’s enforcement activities: the Clean Air Act (CAA), the Clean Water Act (CWA), the Resource Recovery & Conservation Act (RCRA), and the Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA). Learn more about the top violations and how to comply with the most commonly cited statutes by clicking the link below.
